EYFS

In Foundation we place great emphasis on learning through play (continuous provision.) We encourage our children to be involved in safe and challenging collaborative play and we believe in promoting outdoor play to enhance children’s development. Throughout the year we will offer hands-on learning experiences such as forest school, National Trust trips, preparing and cooking our own snacks, celebrating world festivals such as Holi, Chinese New Year and Christian festivals such as Christmas and Easter. We develop the skills outlined in the Early Years Curriculum and to achieve their Early Learning Goals. This includes supporting children’s development in fine and gross motor skills, reading, writing and maths. Throughout the day alongside Continuous Provision we have carpet times and short sessions of guided group work with an adult such as Read, Write Inc (phonics), practical maths and writing activities. Every day there are also opportunities to be creative, to explore and investigate, to develop awe and wonder and of course get messy!!
